As I said in the previous article, I am a Hawks fan, so I would like to tell you this guy’s story today.
Take a look at this.

On Dec.23, Yuki Yanagita (29) of Fukuoka Softbank Hawks held a contract negotiations within the Yahoo Auction Dome and signed a three-year contract. He got the highest annual salary of the team and became a leading Japanese player who got 550 million yen per year (about $4.9 million ) and additional payment based on his performance.
In order to prevent the outflow of the star who will acquire domestic free agent (FA) right next season, the team signed a large contract in such a way as to show him the maximum “sincerity”.
“Great money,” Yanagita said. ” I want to be Japan’s best player,”
(The amount is estimated)
It was possible for him to get triple crowns this year, but he could not play last month of the season due to injury.
Nevertheless, he was ranked second in the batting average (.310), third on home runs (31), and second on RBIs (99) in Pacific League stats. He also won the title of the highest on-base percentage (.426) for the third consecutive year, and it was a wonderful result.
As I think that his hitting balls began to climb as he also described. That’s why his home runs increased. He hit 3rd in the season and lead-off in the post season games, I think that he can do both. This seems to be decided depending on the tone around his team mates, Uchikawa, Matsuda, Despaigne, Akira Nakamura, etc.
I think this amount is reasonable.
There will be no other teams that can pay him this amount in case of FA and it is natural for the team to block the outflow of star player. And if he were a MLB player, he might get 1 billion yen. I’ve heard that average annual salary of MLB players is about 460 million yen (4.09 million dollars).
Finally, He is a very good person and has a good sense of humor as well. Continue to hit many home runs next year and contribute to Hawks’ V2. I ‘m expecting him very much.
Let’s have a look at the home runs of “Gita”.
