UK Buys Gas From Sanctioned Russia

Well, it’s a just little bit of funny story today.
Original article is written in English this time.
Russian tanker Christophe de Margerie has brought the first batch of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Yamal to the United Kingdom. London had to urgently turn to Russian gas targeted by US sanctions due to supply outages.
Japan’s mass media often report that China is exporting petroleum products to North Korea violating sanctions against North Korea but I’ve never heard this kind of report on European countries. (laugh)
Well, now, Japan, North America, and Europe have severe cold waves in the northern hemisphere, so I think that there is no other choice to prevent the people frozen.
It seems that the lowest temperature has declined to -13 ℃ in central UK. Well, when I once lived in New York City, I had also severe winter freezing. The maximum temperature did not exceed zero℃ through the winter.
I have heard that the Forties pipeline recently cracked and crude oil supply stopped in UK so I think that that would have affected it somehow.
The pipeline is 42 years old and the trouble happened as soon as the acquisition of Ineos of Switzerland from BP of UK, It was very bad luck for Ineos.
Finally, there is some excuse for buying LNG from Russia this time. The producer of LNG that UK imported this time is “The Yamal Project” which is a joint venture of Russian Novatech, French Total, PetroChina, and Silk Road Fund. And this project is Not subject to EU sanctions.
